FUN FACT

Why the name Auburn Oil, and why the vintage gas pump you see when you walk in? Named after an old family business, Auburn Oil pays homage to the memories of what gas stations once were, and what this coffee shop strives to be: a place to fuel up (gas, or coffee rather), see friendly places, linger a while, and leave feeling a bit happier and fulfilled.

THE MISSION

Mission first, coffee shop second. This heartwarming chain was founded in 2016 in North Carolina by the Wright family who were seeking to advocate for people with disabilities by creating a space for them to have meaningful work and serve their community. Beverly and Guy May opened the Auburn location in 2022 with a warm welcome from the community.

BITTY AND BEAU'S

While technically a chain, Bitty & Beau’s community involvement, prime location, and mission all lead to us including it on our guide. Located a black over from Toomer’s corner, Bitty & Beau’s is perfect for a work meeting or friendly catch up. The inclusive and welcoming atmosphere will lift your spirits—you can’t leave in a bad mood.
